Do you want to know why Garra Rufa is called Doctor Fish? Because, they were used in ancient Turkey to clean human feet, they get this name.

Garra Rufa actually thrived on dead sells of human skin. You might wonder why it doesn’t eat healthy parts of the skin! God only knows the reason.

These fishes breed in spas where they feed on the skin of patients with psoriasis. Wealthy (yes, this pedicure by fish is costly) people’s feet will be kept immersed in a tub of water and Garra Rufa fishes are let in.

They nibble on the toes and eat away dead skin making the feet clean and smooth.
